Wen Jiabao Puts Political Reform on China's Agenda
Chinese prime minister, Wen Jiabao, was in Shenzhen recently. He said that China wants "political reform" and less powers for the Communist party. He said, "If there is no guarantee of reform of the political system, then results obtained from the reform of the economic system may be lost, and the goal of modernisation cannot be achieved.
What does he mean? China is usually very strict and conservative, so this is surprising statement. However, he has said same things before but nothing changed.
"Did Wen go off message?" (Wall Street Journal - this means did Wen say some things that he should not say?) The Economist magazine said it does not believe him. However, we can see that some people think that China should change politics system a little for to protect the economy.
For sure, there is "new generation of reformers" in some state-controlled media, but some of them do not agree. What will happen next? Watch this space!
In my view I think that China should change a little. Due to world in nowadays had changed so much. On the other hand they also should keep their own politics tho manage their country as well.
