China's Wen Calls for Political Reform

China's Prime Minister Wen Jiabao says that it needs to makes changes to political system to make sure that its economic growth will be able to continue., state media reported.

"We not only have to push forward reform of the economic system, but we also have to push forward reform of the political system," Wen said to Xinhua state news agency when he was in the “boomtown” Shenzhen.

"If there is no guarantee of reform of the political system, then results obtained from the reform of the economic system may be lost and the goal of modernisation cannot be achieved," he said.

Wen also said that he must to protect peoples rights.

"We must resolve the problem of excessive concentration of power, create conditions that allow people to criticise and supervise the government and firmly punish corruption," he stated.

Some people think he means that there is too much corruption in China right now. They think that he is a good leader and helps ordinary people.

He was famous when he went to Tienemen Square in 1989 when the people protested against the government, but the army attacked them and stop them. Then in 2003, he became prime minister of China.

In my opionion I think that the economic is growing well and the combined of the two countries. The two good leaders will protect the poeple from protesting. They will also help people by giving them occupation.

Wen Jiabao Puts Political Reform on China's Agenda

Chinese prime minister, Wen Jiabao, was in Shenzhen recently. He said that China wants "political reform" and less powers for the Communist party. He said, "If there is no guarantee of reform of the political system, then results obtained from the reform of the economic system may be lost, and the goal of modernisation cannot be achieved.

What does he mean? China is usually very strict and conservative, so this is surprising statement. However, he has said same things before but nothing changed.

"Did Wen go off message?" (Wall Street Journal - this means did Wen say some things that he should not say?) The Economist magazine said it does not believe him. However, we can see that some people think that China should change politics system a little for to protect the economy.

For sure, there is "new generation of reformers" in some state-controlled media, but some of them do not agree. What will happen next? Watch this space!

In my view I think that China should change a little. Due to world in nowadays had changed so much. On the other hand they also should keep their own politics tho manage their country as well.

Consumer Confidence Strong in China

According to consultancy firm McKinsey & Co, the survey has shown that Chinese consumers are strongly confident with their economic potential after the slower growth of gross domestic product in the second quarter of the year.
The survey of nearly 15,000 consumers in 49 Chinese cities shown that this slowing down of GDP growth has very little impact on consumer confidence. As China’s GDP growth slowed from 11.9 percent in the first three months of the year to 10.3 percent in the second quarter.

Moreover, rich customers, which are 24 percent of the consumers, are more aware of their spending than the rest which made almost no change in their spending.

The survey also said that China’s domestic consumption is believed to increase by 11 percent every year and will counting for 42 percent of the GDP by 2020.

But due to more shopping malls and luxury outlets opening up, we will not see a quick jump of domestic consumption. As only one percent of the Chinese would buy luxury goods and new shops and facilities will only cater to them. Therefore the balance of demand would be a little by little process.

In my opinion, the economy of China is growing up more and more. So, people in China be confident with their product that made in their country. Therefore the demand will balance that make economy well.

China Unicom May Sell iPhone 4 Next Month

iPhone 4 coming in China this September
Apple Inc’s iPhone 4 will be sold in China this September. Although, at the moment there are about 800 million Chinese using mobile phone but sales of smart phones like Apple’s iPhone is not as high as expected. This may be due to the high 3G subscription charge.

According to Horizon Research Consultancy Group, the survey has shown that only 4.4 percent of Chinese would pay for 3G services, and 19.2 percent of them are still unsure whether they would pay for it or not.

In my opinion, The 3G services is not well known in China, facilitator should advertise and promote the system for chinese people.

China's Ginormous Bus Allows Cars to Drive Through

A Ginormous bus is a name of new innovation that is created by Chinese people. A Ginormous is a bus that cars can drive through or under it, this project was created by Shenzhen Huashi.

The bus utilizes the space between the roadway and overhead objects such as bridges. It will stop at the stations. While the bus stop to get the passengers, cars under the bus can drive through it. Even though, some trucks that too high, the sensor will worn and they need to avoid drive through the bus. This setup would absolutely help reduce congestion in cities and reduce the need for building either additional roadways or underground rail lines.

Shenzhen Huashi has announced that it will commence building the first 115-mile bus track in Beijing by year's end if it can be a reality.

In my opinion, this project is very impressive because it can certainly help to reduce congestion in cities. So the government should support this project to be the reality.

You can see this concept in this video

Bridge in Shanghai Made From Trash Collapsed

The residents of Shanghai got the surprising when they know that an important new bridge collapsed, the components consist of rubbish and not concrete!

The Suzhou River Road where the bridge is located has been completed in 2009. This bridge replaces the older one with a more trend design. After the bridge available only a short period, it began to collapse; just after Christmas. When the fractures emerged, someone thought that maybe the ground might have become unstable or corruption of construction company.

Surprisingly, the construction had made from styrofoam, bags of garbage, scrap wood and plastic waste.

In my opinion, recycling is a good way to reduce the environmental pollution, but this is so ridiculous. It is too dangerous for people who use this bridge.

China Higher Education

What is the definition of global superpower in the past ?
It was about armies or possession of nuclear weapons.

But nowadays it changed, most people will think about education first.
China is improving in the higher education rapidly. The government encourage them about education extremely. China is now the largest higher education system in the world: it awards more university degrees than the US and India combined.
In the recently, China produced just 5,000 PhD students per year. That was only half number in UK, Japan, and India. Then China overtaken every country in the world except the US in the number of doctoral degrees.

In my opinion, education in UK and US are more quality than China. However, china can improve their education rapidly. If I contrast with Thailand, I think Thailand improve very slowly and government do not support education for student who live in the countryside as expected.

Chinese skating pair's wedding ceremony

Shen Xue and Zhao Hongbo are the skating couple that will hold their wedding ceremony in the form of a skating performance, and the price of ticket is 1,080 Yuan, or about 5,000 Baht.

It's rare that they act such a commercial activity in China. Zhao Hongbo, the bridegroom who is also the coordinator behind this performance, said their aim was not money, but he hope people understand skating better. So, he makes the performance perfectly and lays a foundation for commercial. They also invited many celebrities to attend their performance such as; skaters, singers and, musicians.

The revenue from selling ticket and sponsor, will cover the performance expenses, including the fee of inviting the guests and make the field set.

Shen Xue and Zhao Hongbo are the first Chinese team to win a medal at an International Skating Union event. They also won one Olympic gold medal, and two bronze medals.

In my view, this couple, they want to make people understand in skating by show in their wedding ceremony. Moreover, this is the new idea that no one ever do.

FIFA recommend that China should learn about South African football management lesson.

The football league in South Africa has confronted with distresses three years ago as China suffers now, before a Swedish manager launched a thorough reform. Wei said that He choose skill base football development direction as Japan and Korea did.
